Saint Juan Diego

Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego, a Mexican peasant, in a series of miraculous events in the year 1531. Her image most famously appeared on the tilma of Juan Diego, a miraculous event which is illustrated in this print. 
 
Juan Diego was canonized in 2002 and is the patron of indigenous people.
